The last few months have rewritten many aspects of today’s world. This has single-handedly made businesses of all kinds introduce necessary changes to stay affiliated to the most recent coronavirus safety tips and most importantly – stay healthy.

With all the discoveries surrounding the new coronavirus, your business simply can’t go on without an updated approach to counter the risks of infection among your clientele and staff.

Your workplace, including the accessories/clothing worn by your staff and the waxing products you use on your clients, needs to focus on healthy & safety first.

So, without further ado, here are a few coronavirus safety tips you need to know as you eagerly prepare to reopen your beauty oasis:

1.Clean and disinfect high-traffic areas: Use approved products to clean, disinfect, sanitize, and sterilize all surfaces and waxing accessories. You’ll have to do this many times a day; ideally after completing each appointment with your client.

That includes:

• Counters.

• Handles.

• Waxing chairs.

• Carts.

• Wax pots.

• Wax heaters.

• Storage areas.

2. Wear a cloth mask: Since you need to keep the mask in place for the duration of your workday, it’s useful to have a spare just in case. This rule extends to all your clients for as long as they remain inside of your salon/spa.

3. Wear gloves and wash your hands: This is a mandatory step for all professionals in general and the current health crisis isn’t making it any less important. Your hands are one of the most likely places for a virus to spread, and your work involve lots of touching. Kind of a no-brainer right there. Keep your hands off your face (including your face mask). Wash thoroughly, between clients and after sanitizing each part of your working space.

4. Relocate your equipment when necessary: In most cases, an esthetician’s working station takes a single room. By having your own space, you can keep your equipment far from your client’s reach and enforce the 1,5m separation rule more effectively when you’re not performing a wax treatment. It also helps to keep a suitable ventilation system on at all times or at least very frequently during the day.

5.  Limited physical contact: You can’t avoid close contact during a wax treatment, but you can skip the one-on-one interactions leading up to it. Depending on the local situation, online consultations and a virtual check-in system may help you save time and avoid a crowd in your waiting area. Continue to discipline the importance of keeping at least 1,5 m of distance between members of your staff.

 6. Online contact: Beyond the resources mentioned above, the Internet is a huge asset to keep your clients’ attention and make up for your salon’s limited services. If you’re offering wellness products and accessories, this is the perfect time to boost your online store. Answer your phone calls and emails, and stay active on social media. You can also implement a newsletter. This way you can keep your clients updated about the services available.

7.  Reassure your staff when they need to stay home: If you’re the owner of a beauty center, empathy towards your employees is just as important to keep the COVID-19 virus out of your business. Avoid unnecessary health risks with the right waxing methods and the most sophisticated waxing products in the market.

Your safety and the safety of your clients is the key to ensure the continued success of your business in the beauty industry.
